BAMU Organises Week-Long Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Mahotsav With Diverse Programs
Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) has organised a week-long Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti Mahotsav to mark his birth anniversary, which will be celebrated on April 14. The Mahotsav began on Monday with the inauguration of ‘Reading Week.’ Various programmes have been organised between April 7 and 14. The Reading Week was inaugurated on Monday at 11 am. Shridhar Nandedkar delivered a lecture on ‘Reading Culture.’ He said that Dr. Ambedkar used to read in the library for hours while he was studying in America and England. He did not leave his habit of reading after completing his studies; instead, he used to read continuously even after that.
The poem recitation programme will be held on April 8, and a blood donation camp will be held on April 9. The birth anniversary of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule will be celebrated on April 11. Rahul Kosabi will deliver a lecture on the life of Mahatma Phule. A book fair and exhibition will be held on the same day, and Guardian Minister Sanjay Shirsat will inaugurate the fair. An Ambedkari Jalsa will be organised on April 12, and it will be inaugurated by ACP Sampat Shinde. The event of reading for 18 hours continuously will be held on April 12. On April 13, Shahir Nandesh Umap will present a cultural programme. The Mahotsav will be concluded on the birth anniversary of Dr. Ambedkar on April 14. A grand procession will be organised from the University Gate at 11 am to the Auditorium. Dr. Vandana Mahajan will deliver a lecture on Phule – Shahu – Ambedkar Thoughts. The university administration has appealed to the people to attend the programmes in large numbers.
