CISCE: Changes in the syllabus of main subjects of 12th class of CISCE

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has revised the syllabus of several major subjects of ISC class 12th. These changes will be applicable for the board examinations of 2025. Amendments have been made in subjects like Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Commerce, Accountancy, History, Geography, Political Science, Sociology, Psychology and Legal Studies. The board has asked to teach according to the syllabus for the 12th examination 2026. In this regard, the heads of the schools have been instructed to take steps in this direction and provide information about it to the students.

You can download the syllabus from the CISCE website www.cisce.org. CISCE has recently included the subject of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the ISC 12th syllabus. Under this, students will get basic information and practical experience about these technical fields. This step has been taken to prepare students for better career opportunities in the rapidly developing technology fields in the future. With these subjects introduced in 2024, the board has announced that these subjects will also be available to ICSE (Class 10th) students in the 2026-27 session.

Permission to take improvement examination in two subjects: This year students of both ICSE and ISC will be allowed to take improvement examination in a maximum of two subjects in the same academic year.
