Centre hikes excise duty on petrol and diesel by Rs 2 per litre, no increase in retail prices

The government on Monday i.e. on April 7, 2025, raised the excise duty on diesel and petrol by Rs 2 per litre. According to the notification issued by the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, the change will come into force on April 8, 2025.
