VIDEO: Sidhi Journalist-Youtuber Alleges Conspiracy After Massive Fire Burns His Kutcha House
Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): A massive fire was reported at a residence of a local journalist and Youtuber from Madhya Pradesh’s Sidhi on Saturday night. Fortunately, no life was lost in the incident and the journalist safely escaped the blazes along with his family.
Journalist Ravi Kumar Pandey has accused a family-- he was involved with in an old land case, of setting his house afire.
According to information, the victim, Ravi Kumar Pandey, is a local reporter and YouTuber in Sidhi. On Saturday evening, he was at home along with his family around 8 pm, when he noticed the flames at his house located in Panwar Chouhanan Tola area under the Jamodi police station limits.
Suspects file case against journalist
Regarding the matter, Sidhi Superintendent of Police Ravindra Verma confirmed and a case was registered on the basis of victim's complaint and an investigation was launched. “The complainant has expressed suspicion on a family they have an ongoing dispute with,” Verma added.
The cyber cell and FSL team are working together to identity suspects’ locations at the time of the incident. However he said that the complainant also had a case against him filed by the suspects.
Congress attacks BJP
Kamal Nath
Journalist’s allegations have also triggered MP Congress to attack BJP alleging the journalists have lost their freedom of speech and expression.
Former CM Kamal Nath emphasised on the matter through a social media post captioned as, “The incident of setting journalist Shri Ravi Kumar’s house on fire in Sidhi is extremely condemnable. It is a brutal attack on freedom of expression and a clear sign of the collapse of law and order in the state. Ravi Kumar must be given justice immediately!”
Jitu Patwari
Madhya Pradesh Congress chief Jitu Patwari also took to X to attack BJP and wrote, “Anarchy in Madhya Pradesh has crossed all limits! After the poor, laborers, the marginalized, Dalits, Adivasis, and women—now even the media is being openly attacked!”
