These Indian states will experience extreme heatwave this week; rain in 4 states

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said there will be heatwave conditions in a number of states over the week. People have been warned of extreme humidity as a result of the heatwave.
The forecast is that Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Delhi will experience heatwave conditions over the next week while there will be an increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in North West India, Maharashtra and South Peninsular Plateau. The maximum temperature in Central India is also expected to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius during the next four days.
Gujarat will experience an increase of over two degrees Celsius. Parts of Saurashtra and Kutch will experience severe heat till April 7. The weather department has issued a red alert for Gujarat. The extreme weather has prompted the state to announce that schools can decide on class timings based on the weather conditions of their location.
Parts of Rajasthan, Haryana and Punjab will also experience severe heat waves till April 10. The maximum temperature in some parts of southwestern Rajasthan is likely to settle around 44 to 45 degrees and 42 to 44 degrees in parts of eastern Rajasthan.
Delhi
The IMD predicted that Delhi's maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to be around 41 degrees Celsius and 21 degrees Celsius on Monday. The national capital recorded a maximum temperature of 38.2 degrees Celsius on Sunday, which is 3.1 notches above the seasonal average.
Rain in hilly areas
While Kerala and Mahe are likely to receive rainfall on Monday, Karnataka, East and North East India will experience showers till April 10. There is a possibility of a hailstorm in Bihar this week, while parts of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan and Muzzafarabad may receive moderate rainfall.
