Fisheries Department Official Booked For Seeking ₹1 Lakh Bribe, Contractual Worker Caught Red-Handed Accepting Cash On Her Behalf

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): Special Police establishment (SPE) Lokayukta, Bhopal has caught a contractual employee of fisheries department accepting Rs 1 lakh, in Rajgarh, police said on Sunday. The contractual worker was accepting the amount on behalf of the district officer of the department Surekha Sharaf. She has been made the key accused in the case and the contractual worker is co-accused.

SP, DK Rathore informed that complainant Anwar Kadri had taken the fishing contract of Kundaliya dam of Rajgarh district in 2024. In his complaint, Kadri stated that the district officer of the department Surekha Sharaf was raising hurdles in his contract and demanding Rs 1 lakh from him. The official was allegedly preparing reports against the contractor to get the contract canceled, he alleged. After verification of the complaint a trap team led by inspector Rajni Tiwari chalked out a plan to trap the official accepting cash.

On Sunday, when the complainant reached the spot to handover the amount, the official asked him to give the money to the contractual worker Mubarik Gouri. As soon as the amount was handed to the worker, the trap team caught Gouri red-handed. SEP has booked the official and the contractual worker.
