What our readers say: Improvement needed at Panchrukhi Railway Station
The Panchrukhi Railway Station on the Kangra Valley Pathankot-Jogindernagar line is in urgent need of attention. The station lacks proper entry and exit points, and overgrown bushes around the premises attract wild animals such as snakes. Scattered iron pieces on the platform pose a serious safety hazard for passengers. The overall cleanliness of the station is poor, with dirt accumulating near the drinking water area and inadequate platform maintenance. Additionally, the platform’s low height makes it difficult for children, women and passengers with disabilities to board or disembark safely, increasing the risk of injury. These issues require immediate action. It is hoped that the new Jammu Railways Division will prioritise the station’s improvement. —Satish Sharma, Panchrukhi
Reckless driving a threat
Reckless driving on the Chotta Shimla-Kasumpti road has become a growing concern. Many drivers speed through the area, posing a serious risk to pedestrians, especially children and senior citizens. Authorities must take strict action and monitor this road closely to prevent accidents. —Anita, Shimla
