BIG threat to Mukesh Ambani’s Jio, Sunil Mittal’s Airtel as BSNL set to launch 5G services in…, allocated Rs 61,000 crores…

In order to revive the state owned  telecom giant, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has received 5G spectrum for Rs 61,000 crores from the Department of Telecommunications (DoT). This allocation will help BSNL to roll out its 5G services and make a comeback in the telecom sector.

According to a report by The Economic Times, BSNL now holds premium 5G spectrum bands, including 700 MHz and 3300 MHz, which are critical for delivering high-speed connectivity. The telecom operator plans to launch its 5G services in Delhi by mid-2025, with infrastructure development like tower installation going on in the city.

BSNL Revival Strategy

The introduction of 5G services is part of a larger revival strategy for BSNL. The company has also been expanding its 4G footprint, backed by a recent government-approved package of Rs 6,000 crores. Overall, BSNL has received financial support of nearly Rs 3.22 lakh crores through various initiatives over the years.

If BSNL revival plan becomes successful, it can create a big threat to Mukesh Ambani’s Jio and Sunil Mittal’s Airtel.
