Nashik: MVP College's Innovative Onion Storage System Wins At Startup Olympiad 2025, Sahyadri Farm Ready To Implement

In the 'Startup Olympiad 2025' competition organized by Savitribai Phule Pune University, the 'Onion Storage System' model presented by MVP College of Architecture has been selected among the final six teams from 400 entries from across the state. The university handed over the prize cheque to the college.

The 'Startup Olympiad 2025' competition was organized at the college level by the Center for Innovation, Incubation, and Enterprise of Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU). More than 400 teams from across the state participated in this and presented innovative models. Out of these, 26 selected teams' models were chosen. These 26 teams presented the actual models in front of experts. From this, the 'Onion Storage System', i.e., the equipment related to onion storage, presented by five students from the Department of Production and Design of MVP College of Architecture, was selected among the final six. It is believed that this highly innovative and economically affordable device can be beneficial for onion storage for farmers.

Students Upasana Saparia, Samruddhi Sancheti, Shubham Bhambre, Ram Lohar, and Soham Ambavane prepared this model under the guidance of the college principal Dr. Prajakta Baste, department head Smita Kasar, Prof. Suvarna Patil, and Prof. Prajakta Vankar. In this regard, MVIPR General Secretary Adv. Nitin Thackeray felicitated all the students and mentor professors at the central office. MVP’s Education Officer Dr. DD Lokhande was present on this occasion.

Sahyadri Farm ready to implement

Sahyadri Farm Company in Nashik has shown its readiness to implement the model prepared by MVP's College of Architecture for the benefit of farmers. The company has also shown its readiness to spend the necessary funds for this.
