Railway Rules: You can travel in First AC by booking a Third AC ticket, you may not know this trick of Railways
Train Auto Upgradation Scheme: According to the rules of the Railways, while travelling in a train, your third AC ticket can be converted to first AC. Know the rules regarding this.
Railway Rules: In India, crores of passengers travel by train every day. Several thousand trains are also run by the railways for the passengers. People mostly prefer to travel in AC and sleeper after getting reservation in the train.
But do you know that you can travel in a First AC coach by taking a Third AC ticket. Now you must be thinking how is this possible. So let us tell you that this can definitely happen. For this, a proper rule has been made by the railways.
After booking a ticket in Third AC, your ticket can be converted to First AC. This facility of Railways is called Automatic Upgradation Scheme. Which is provided by the Railways. However, it is available in special cases.
For example, suppose you booked a train ticket in 3rd AC to go somewhere. But your ticket was in RAC. When the train is about to depart, the ticket is vacant in 1st AC instead of 3rd AC.
So in such a situation, under the Indian Railways’ auto upgradation scheme, even if you book a ticket in third AC, your ticket is converted to first AC. That means you can travel in first AC by paying a small fare.
Let us tell you that the railway does not charge any separate fee for this. However, you get this facility only when you have ticked the option of “Consider for Auto Upgradation” at the time of booking.
Let us tell you that only confirmed tickets or RAC tickets are auto upgraded by Indian Railways. Waiting tickets are not upgraded. After the upgrade, you also get a confirmation message.
