Celebration & Diplomacy: BJP Marks 46th Foundation Day as PM Modi Concludes Sri Lanka Visit with Historic Temple Visit
As the BJP celebrates its 46th Foundation Day, the party reflects on its journey from winning just 2 seats in the 1984 Lok Sabha elections to becoming the world’s largest political party. A special event is scheduled at the BJP headquarters to commemorate this occasion. BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari marked the day by visiting Ayodhya and celebrating the developmental gifts announced for Rameshwaram.Meanwhile, on the third and final day of his Sri Lanka visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit the historic city of Anuradhapura along with Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake. Both leaders will offer prayers at the sacred Mahabodhi Temple. PM Modi will also inaugurate two development projects funded by India in the region.This diplomatic visit underscores India's commitment to strengthening ties with its neighbor and promoting shared cultural heritage. Earlier, Sri Lanka conferred the Mitra Bhushan award on PM Modi — the highest civilian honor given to a foreign national — recognizing India’s growing regional influence.
