Veteran actor Manoj Kumar laid to rest with state honour, Big B, Salim Khan, others pay their tribute
Late veteran actor Manoj Kumar passed away on Friday (April 4, 2025) at the age of 87. On Saturday (April 5), the actor was laid to rest with state honours in Juhu, Mumbai. The mortal remains of the actor were brought from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital to his residence at Goswami Towers at around 10:00 am. The last rites of the actor were conducted at Pawan Hans crematorium, where he received a Guard of Honour for his contribution to Indian cinema.
Several famous celebs including Amitabh Bachchan, Salim Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Arbaaz Khan attended the funeral. Others who also marked their presence at the last rites of Kumar were Prem Chopra, Raza Murad, Anu Malik, Vindu Dara Singh, and Dheeraj Kumar. Several photos and videos of Bollywood celebrities from the crematorium ground have surfaced online.
In one of those videos, the late actor’s wife, Shashi Goswami, was seen breaking into tears while bidding him goodbye. The late actor’s son, Kunal Goswami, was also seen praying.
As soon as the videos went online, fans spammed the comment section and expressed their grief. While one comment read, “Om Shanti… so many years of togetherness being lost! No doubt losing a lifelong companion is devastating. May she find the strength to bear this irreparable loss, and may he find eternal peace.” Another wrote, “May the Lord give strength to the loved ones. Om Shanti.”
According to media reports, Manoj Kumar passed away after battling health-related ailments. His son Kunal Goswami confirmed the news. He told news agency ANI, “My father, Manoj Kumar, passed away today at 3:30 AM at Kokilaben Hospital. He had been feeling unwell for a long time, but he fought every hurdle with resilience and grace. He peacefully breathed his last by God’s grace and Sai Baba’s blessings. Sia Ram.”
