Michael Bracewell Reflects On New Zealand's Dominant Series Win Over Pakistan

NZ Vs PAK: New Zealand skipper Michael Bracewell has hailed the performances of his 'young guns', as a fresh-looking New Zealand side thumped Pakistan in the 3rd and final ODI of the series to seal a 3-0 whitewash on Saturday, April 5.

The Blackcaps had already won the series, but wanted to conclude it on a high, and they managed to do so, as Pakistan had no answers to the wrath of Kiwi bowlers.

"It was an enjoyable day, always nice to finish the season on a high, wanted to put up a good performance in front of a great crowd, thankful we managed to do that," Bracewell said afterwards. Wicket played well, credit to groundsmen (after the relentless rain), thought it was a great game of cricket. Obviously a reduced one but enjoyable. With the reduced number of resources, you get a chance to put down the foot a little bit earlier," said Michael Bracewell.

"Seeing the guys come in and do well is most pleasing and winning the series is an added bonus. It was great to see different guys step up at different times," said the stand-in skipper.

"We are clear about the style we want to play...(on fast bowlers) they carried through to ODIs, pretty amazing to watch them, they are fast, aggressive and used their height and bounce. We found a way to get to an above par total and the way bowlers bowled, it was always going to be enough," he added.

Here's What PAK Skipper Said After Series Defeat

Mohammad Rizwan (Pakistan Captain):

"[On the Positives] Important series for us. Good touch from Babar Azam getting a couple of fifties. Sufiyan Muqeem bowled very well. Last match Naseem Shah got the rhythm with the new ball. We give credit to all the departments of New Zealand for playing well since last few months. The conditions from Asia are quite different but they played well even in Pakistan."

"New ball bowling is important in New Zealand. We tried to focus on the youngsters. They will only get better. [Positives from the series] If you lose you can't say anything. Our side we had some good performances personally. But credit to New Zealand."

"[Tough outings in CT and the series] We will leave the past and look ahead to the PSL. Hopefully the nation will enjoy as we didn't give them the results."
