Gujarat firecracker factory blaze: Smoke, and a mirror to society

The Banaskantha firecracker factory blaze in Gujarat killed 21 people out of the 24 in the building, among them eight children. While the State and Central governments responded quickly with an announcement of aid and the arrest of the owners, the factory was operating without a licence to manufacture. Abhinay Lakshman finds that the families were all migrants from Madhya Pradesh
