Acceleration of business reforms discussed in Ladakh
The Administrative Secretary of Agriculture and Horticulture Department and Chairperson of the Deregulation Cell, Bhupesh Chaudhary, chaired a meeting to review and expedite the implementation of reforms under the Business Reform Action Plan (BRAP) in the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The meeting focused on streamlining regulatory processes and fostering a business-friendly environment in Ladakh. Discussions revolved around the progress of deregulation initiatives, challenges in implementation and strategies to enhance the ease of doing business in the region.
The Secretary emphasised the importance of interdepartmental coordination in ensuring the seamless execution of the reform agenda. He directed the concerned departments to focus on achieving the 23 priority areas outlined in the reform plan.
The Secretary instructed officers to address the queries raised in the Government of India’s template and ensure that responses are prepared in a timely manner. He also directed departments to nominate a dedicated officer for the deregulation exercise and to review the required formats as per the roster set by the Deregulation Cell.
The meeting also highlighted the significance of digitisation and process simplification in boosting business activities and improving governance.
The meeting was attended by the Member Secretary of the Ladakh Pollution Control Committee; Director of Industries & Commerce, Ladakh; Director of Urban Local Bodies, Ladakh; Director of Tourism, Ladakh; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Leh; Deputy Labour Commissioner; Public Law Officer; Chief Engineer, PHE; and OSD to the Secretary, Power Development Department.
