Expedite development works in Sonepat district: Minister to officials
Cabinet Minister Dr Arvind Sharma directed district administrative officials to expedite development works in the district. He also warned them that any kind of negligence in development works and public welfare works would not be tolerated.
The Cooperation, Jails, Tourism and Heritage Minister reviewed the ongoing development works and public welfare schemes of the Central and state governments in Sonepat district during the meeting held at the Mini-Secretariat on Friday.
Sharma said the BJP government and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini had taken a pledge to speed-up the development works. In such a situation, negligence at any level would not be tolerated, he said.
MLA Rai Krishna Gahlawat, MLA Gannaur Devender Kadyan, Mayor Rajiv Jain, DC Dr Manoj Kumar Yadav, Commissioner of Police Nazneen Bhasin along with all officials were present in the meeting.
He further said CM Nayab Singh Saini had directed that all development works and schemes should be completed within the stipulated time period so that people benefited from these schemes.
Sharma further said to expedite the development works, the public representatives and administrative officials would have to work together with coordination.
Sharma directed the Police Commissioner to break the drug syndicate.
“If officials will behave well with the people who come to their department with their problem then people will not have to make rounds of government offices,” he added.
The officers and the employees should communicate with the general public with a positive attitude and understand their problems to provide resolutions, the Minister added.
The minister further finalised the time limit to complete the development works under the CM’s announcements, roads, construction of college building, hospital, projects of Public Health and Engineering Department, Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran, PM Awas Scheme, projects of civic bodies and Sports Department and directed to complete the projects within the set time lines.
The minister also directed the officials to keep a watch on the projects sent to Chandigarh for approval and if any kind of delay was found then it should be brought to the knowledge of the public representatives.
“In case of negligence by contractors in development works, there should not be delay in taking action, because this not only delays the development project but also increases its budget,” the minister added.
The Cabinet Minister expressed dissatisfaction over lapse of D-plan funds and warned them that it should not be repeated again.
The minister also directed the Superintending Engineer, Public Health Department to hold a camp for two days in Gohana to resolve the problems of the people.
