8 plaints resolved at grievance redressal panel meeting in Ambala

Haryana’s Public Works (B&R) and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa on Friday chaired the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee meeting and directed officials to resolve the complaints on priority.

The minister was holding the meeting at Panchayat Bhawan in Ambala City on Friday. As many as 12 complaints were listed for the meeting, of which eight were resolved while directions were issued on the remaining four complaints and kept pending for the next meeting.

The officials were directed to submit reports regarding the complaints in the next meeting. Deputy Commissioner Ajay Singh Tomer, SP Surinder Singh Bhoria, District Municipal Commissioner Sachin Gupta and several BJP leaders were present on the occasion.

During the meeting, Gurdeep Singh, a resident of Barara, alleged that a former sarpanch of Talheri Rangran village had embezzled Rs 4 lakh in the construction of Valmiki Chaupal. On this complaint, the Minister issued directions to investigate the matter and take action against the person who had embezzled the money. He further said if the Gram Sachiv was also involved in embezzlement, then action should be taken against him as per the rules.

Nitin Sabharwal and other members of the Dairy Union, Ambala city, complained about the lack of a permanent solution regarding the drainage of dirty water inside the Dairy Complex in Khatauli, on which Municipal Corporation’s ME Raj Kumar told the Minister that a project was being prepared for a permanent solution to the drainage of water and the tender process was on. A motor had also been installed here as a temporary solution.

Jasbir Singh of Baknaur village, while placing his complaint regarding pollution, said a flour mill and mini-sheller was installed in the populated area near his house, and it led to pollution and inconvenience. The complaint has been kept pending for settlement in the next meeting.

Madhu Khosla, a resident of the Housing Board Colony, Ambala, in her complaint stated that a person living in the neighbourhood had set up a factory near her house due to which the wall and paint of her house were damaged. On the request of the applicant, the minister directed two non-government members of the committee to inspect the spot along with the Municipal Corporation officials and present the report in the next meeting.

The minister also issued directions in land dispute cases. Along with this, the Cabinet Minister also heard the complaints of other applicants who reached the meeting of the Grievance Redressal Committee and marked the complaints to the departments concerned. He also gave instructions to the officials to resolve the complaints.

Speaking to mediapersons, the minister said it was his priority to ensure quality work in all works related to the Public Works Department as well as the Public Health Engineering Department. If any deficiency was found in the quality of construction work, immediate action would be taken against the agency concerned and whoever was involved in it. The triple-engine government was working for the benefit of every section of society in the state.
