Representatives of housing societies meet DC over key issues
To address grievances, Nishant Kumar Yadav, Deputy Commissioner-cum-Estate Officer, held a meeting with representatives of various cooperative housing societies. Various key points discussed during the meeting included conversion charges, completion certificates, unearned increase in internal maintenance and water charges.
Yadav gave a patient hearing to the concerns raised by the society representatives. He acknowledged the complexity and significance of the issues discussed and assured all present that the matter would be taken up with the authorities concerned. He also emphasised that the Estate Office was committed to ensuring transparency, fairness and adherence to the policies laid down by the Chandigarh Administration.
The DC further assured that due consideration would be given to the practical challenges faced by societies, and wherever feasible within the ambit of law and policy, suitable action would be initiated to address their grievances.
The meeting was attended by Assistant Estate Officer, officials of the Estate Office, Chandigarh Housing Board, Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies, SDO (Building Branch) and SDO (Public Health).
