Chowk in city to be named after Bhagwan Parshuram: Aman Arora

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state president and Punjab Cabinet Minister Aman Arora on Tuesday said a new roundabout in the city would be named after Bhagwan Parshuram.

The minister was addressing a gathering at KMV College during a state-level event organised by the Department of Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, to mark Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti. Congratulating the people on this auspicious occasion, the minister expressed pride that for the first time, a state-level celebration of Bhagwan Parshuram Jayanti was being organised by the government. He further hailed the Punjab Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department for organising this state-level event in Jalandhar.

On attack on tourists in Pahalgam, Arora said it was high time that the Indian side gave Pakistan a befitting reply. “Punjab has 530 km border with Pakistan. On the front, the Punjab Police and the Border Security Force are working in complete tandem to guard the entire stretch,” he said.

Regarding FIR lodged against Kotli, the AAP state president said the police would have surely acted against him in a lawful manner. “It is always better to sit and talk to resolve an issue rather than staging protests and causing inconvenience to the public,” he reacted.
