Odisha Vigilance Intercepts Excise Superintendent with Rs. 3 Lakh Suspected Ill-Gotten Cash

Dhenkanal: In a significant development, Krishna Nayak, Superintendent of Excise, Dhenkanal, was intercepted by the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday, while carrying Rs. 3 lakh in suspected ill-gotten cash.

The interception took place at Deulasahi Road, Dhenkanal, as Nayak was traveling in a vehicle.

Acting on credible inputs about Nayak’s alleged collection of illicit funds, a Vigilance team seized the cash and the vehicle after she failed to provide a satisfactory explanation for possessing such a large sum.

The Vigilance sleuths have launched searches at five locations linked to Nayak to investigate potential disproportionate assets (DA). She is currently under examination to determine the source of the funds.
A detailed report is expected as the investigation progresses, the Vigilance stated.
