Daughter of AAP leader, who went missing in Canada, found dead

Twenty-one-year-old Indian student, Vanshika Saini, daughter of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Davinder Saini, who went missing three days ago in Canada's Ontario province, has been found dead. She had moved to Canada for temporary employment after completing her education.
The Indian High Commission confirmed the tragic news on Tuesday and called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Reports regarding Vanshika's disappearance present conflicting timelines. Some accounts suggest she was last seen on April 22 while a few other reports say she went missing on April 25 while searching for rental accommodations. Her mobile phone was switched off too.
Vanshika's family described her as a dedicated student who consistently attended important examinations. However, they noted that her reported absence from a recent IELTS examination had raised concerns prior to the confirmation of her death.
The Indian High Commission expressed their sorrow and commitment to providing assistance in a statement on X: "We are deeply saddened to learn of the death of Ms. Vanshika, an Indian student in Ottawa. We have engaged with the relevant authorities, and the local police are investigating the cause. We are in close communication with the grieving family and local community organizations to offer all possible support."
Earlier, while Vanshika was still missing, the High Commission had also appealed for information on X: "HCI Ottawa is in contact with local Indo-Canadian community associations and concerned authorities regarding a missing Indian student in Ottawa. Anyone with information is requested to contact the provided numbers."
Local police authorities are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause of Vanshika's death.
