Rajasthan Education Department Website Hacked By Pakistani Hackers; Poster Uploaded Saying ‘Pahalgam Was Not an Attack’
On Tuesday morning, the official website of the Rajasthan Education Department was reportedly hacked by Pakistani hackers. The attackers uploaded a poster on the homepage that read: "Pahalgam was not an attack."
As soon as officials became aware of the breach, the department's IT wing was activated. The website has been temporarily taken offline as recovery efforts are underway. Reacting to the incident, Education Minister Madan Dilawar stated that, so far, there is no confirmation of any sensitive data being leaked. He added, “We are conducting a thorough investigation of the entire system,” as reported by NDTV.
The website has been temporarily taken offline as recovery efforts are underway. The poster uploaded by the hackers read: "Pahalgam was not an attack. It was an inside job a false flag operation orchestrated by the Indian government to provoke war and divide people based on faith. You started the fire. Now be ready to melt. The next strike won’t be with bullets, but with a digital assault. No borders. No warnings. No mercy. Open your eyes. Question your heroes. Your intelligence agencies are fake. Your security is an illusion. The countdown has begun."
The poster also featured a viral image related to the Pahalgam incident, in which a woman is labeled as a “paid actor.”
DLB and JDA Websites Were Also Hacked Yesterday
This incident follows a similar cyberattack that occurred on Monday, when hackers targeted the websites of the Department of Local Bodies (DLB) and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA). The attackers had posted pro-Pakistan propaganda on both sites. These websites have since been restored.
Cybersecurity agencies are currently working to identify the group behind the attacks. In one of the posts, the hackers claimed to be affiliated with the ‘Pakistan Cyber Force’, according to the NDTV reports.
The Education Minister assured that the department's website will be restored shortly and emphasized that strong measures will be implemented to bolster cybersecurity systems and prevent future breaches.
