Delhi Traffic Police has launched a massive campaign against illegal parking near Terminal-1 of Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport. Giving information about this on Monday, an official said that under the campaign, 784 challans were issued under various sections against the violators.
Let us tell you that Terminal-1, one of the busiest sections of IGI Airport, is heavily crowded every day. Thousands of people travel to Terminal-1 for flights. Due to the high volume of traffic, there is often heavy traffic jam. This jam is especially seen due to illegal parking of private taxis, cabs, autorickshaws and private vehicles.
During the inspection, DCP of Traffic Police Rajiv Rawal found that there was a huge jam due to wrongly parked vehicles. Due to illegal parking, not only was there less space on the carriageway but pedestrians were also facing problems. Not only this, it was also posing a threat to the safety of passengers.
Seeing the situation, DCP Rawal immediately instructed other officers to remove the congestion and restore smooth traffic at the terminal. After this, a comprehensive special campaign was launched against illegally parked vehicles. During the campaign, 784 challans were issued by the traffic police for illegal parking. After this, traffic on the carriageway became smooth.
