Farah Khan Jokes About Pooja Bedi’s Dancing Skills, Recalls Pehla Nasha Shoot: ‘Spot Boy Fainted When Her Skirt Flew’

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently hosted an episode on her YouTube channel, featuring actor Alaya F and her mother, actress Pooja Bedi. The trio bonded over blueberry protein pancakes, cooked by Alaya, while indulging in plenty of laughter, nostalgic stories, and a few playful jabs.

Farah Khan calls Pooja Bedi a bad dancer

As Alaya prepared her healthy recipe, Farah couldn't help but reminisce about her time spent with Pooja years ago during the shoot of 'Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar'. Sharing a funny memory, Farah told Alaya how she had dedicated several days trying to help Pooja dance. Amused by Alaya’s impressive moves Farah asked her, “Whose genes she got because she’s a ‘fantastic dancer’.” In response, Alaya confessed that dancing didn’t come naturally to her either and she isn't a good dancer, much like her mom. Alaya added that she worked hard to improve over time.

Pooja then humorously demonstrated how Alaya used to dance, prompting Farah to burst into laughter and remark, “This is exactly how you danced in Naam Hai Mera Fonseca in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar.”

Farah recalls shoot of Pehla Nasha song

The conversation took a hilarious turn when Farah recounted a rather cheeky incident from the filming of the iconic song 'Pehla Nasha'. Turning to Alaya, she narrated, “You know the story, right? When she stood on that car (in the Pehla Nasha song), the spot boy, who was not standing behind her but underneath her, vo gir gaye (he fell down). That’s the first time I've seen a thong. They were not very common in those days.”

Pooja quickly jumped in to clarify the details, insisting Farah was exaggerating. She explained that the spot boy was actually standing a little farther away and joked about her wardrobe struggles during the shoot, saying, "Every time she pulled her dress down the front, it flew up from behind."

Farah also took a moment to praise Alaya, calling her “elegant and calm,” especially when appearing on the red carpet, and pointed out the contrast with Pooja’s more free-spirited persona.

On the work front

Alaya F, who stepped into Bollywood with 'Jawaani Jaaneman' in 2020 alongside Saif Ali Khan, has steadily built her career with projects like Almost Pyaar with DJ Mohabbat and U-Turn. This year, she featured in Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Srikanth.

Meanwhile, the 1992 classic Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, starring Aamir Khan and Ayesha Jhulka and featuring Pooja Bedi as Devika, was recently re-released in theatres, sparking a fresh wave of nostalgia.
