Thane News: Traffic Police Announces Advisory Ahead Of Saibaba Temple's 25th Anniversary Celebration From April 28 To May 2; Check Routes

Thane: In preparation for the Silver Jubilee celebrations of the Sai Baba Temple, the Thane traffic police have announced a traffic advisory and road closures to manage the anticipated surge in devotees and ensure smooth vehicular movement in the area. The festivities, organised by the Shri Sai Baba Trust, will take place from April 28 to May 2, 2025.

The celebrations include various cultural events and a bhandara (community feast), drawing thousands of devotees to the temple premises each day. As the area falls under the jurisdiction of the Kapurbawdi Traffic Sub-Division, Thane Traffic Police, led by Deputy Commissioner of Police Pankaj Shirsat, have issued alternate route plans and entry restrictions to minimise congestion.

An X post shared by the Thane traffic police on April 25 stated, "The 25th anniversary of Shri Sai Baba Temple will be celebrated by Shri Sai Baba Trust within the limits of Kapurbawdi Traffic Sub-Division from 28/04/2025 to 02/05/2025. To avoid traffic congestion in the said area, entry will be closed and alternate routes will be provided."

Road Closures and Diversions:

Road: Vehicles travelling from Saket to Kasheli via Balkum will be blocked at the intersection leading to Lodha Casa Royal Society.

Diversion: These vehicles must turn left from the Lodha Complex and proceed via Majiwada to reach their destinations.

Road: Vehicles travelling from Kasheli to Saket via Balkum will face entry closure at Balkum Naka.

Diversion: These vehicles must proceed straight ahead and reach their destinations via Kapurbawdi Circle.

The advisory will be in force daily from 5:00 PM (17:00 to 24:00 hrs) to midnight starting April 28 through May 2, 2025.

Exemptions

Emergency and essential services are exempted from the traffic restrictions, including:

Police vehicles, Fire brigade, Ambulances, Green corridor vehicles, Oxygen supply vehicles, Other essential service vehicles

The Thane Police urge all citizens to cooperate with the traffic arrangements to ensure the celebrations proceed smoothly and safely for everyone involved.
