BYD Updates Seal Sedan With Crucial Changes: See What Has Been Added
When we drove the BYD Seal, we noticed that without the sunshade the all glass roof would make the cabin hot even though a sunshade was an accessory. Now, BYD has updated that and has also tweaked the Seal sedan with various changes. Before that let's look at the new Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) low voltage battery (LVB) which is six-times lighter weight compared to conventional low-voltage batteries and has five-times better self-discharge consumption while having a 15-year lifespan.
Standard, there is a power sunshade along with a new silver-plated dimming canopy. Crucially, as we noted during our drive, the AC was working hard to cool in typical Indian summers while now BYD has brought in a larger compressor capacity and an all-new module for air purification. Other changes include Frequency Selective Dampers and the inclusion of BYD’s Disus-C intelligent damping system. Is where the ride is improved and tuned to road conditions.
Finally, the BYD Seal also gets wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. The battery pack options continue to be the Dynamic RWD with a 61.44 kWh battery pack which comes at Rs 41 lakh while the middle spec Premium RWD comes in at Rs 45,70,000 for the 82.56 kWh option. The top-end dual motor version comes with the same battery pack here but with more power while priced at Rs 53,15,000. The updates make the Seal better value this time and prices have also not been changed which means it remains attractively priced despite being an import.
