CM Pushkar Singh Dham took to X to share this ceremonious news and stated, "Panchmukhi Doli (palanquin) of Baba Kedarnath has ceremoniously departed from the winter seat at Ukhimath towards Shri Kedarnath Dham. This is a magnificent expression of our faith, tradition, and Sanatan (eternal) culture. The doors of Baba Kedarnath Temple will open for devotees on May 2."

"I pray to Lord Mahadev, the God of gods, to shower his blessings upon all devotees and to bring happiness, prosperity, and harmony into everyone's lives. A heartfelt welcome and greeting to all devotees on the sacred land of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand for the Char Dham Yatra - 2025," his post added.

Kedarnath temple doors to open on May 2

The sacred doors (kapaat) of the Kedarnath temple will open on May 2, 2025. Ahead of this event, the temple is being beautifully decorated with flowers. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami shared a video of the ongoing decorations on his social media platforms. A large gathering of devotees is expected to attend the ceremony, signaling high enthusiasm for the pilgrimage season.

Chief Minister Dhami emphasised that Uttarakhand is fully prepared to welcome pilgrims to the Char Dhams. He mentioned that preparations at every level have been completed. On Sunday, from his camp office, he flagged off a team of volunteers who will be managing the 'Mukhya Sevak Bhandara' (community kitchens) at different pilgrimage sites. These community kitchens will provide food to devotees, ensuring they have a positive and fulfilling experience during their spiritual journey. "Making the Char Dham Yatra successful is our collective responsibility," Dhami stated.

Baba Kedarnath’s holy procession began today

Today, the Panchmukhi (five-faced) idol of Baba Kedarnath will set off in a ceremonial procession from the Omkareshwar Temple in Ukhimath towards Kedarnath.
