Who Was Dr. Bhawana Yadav? Female Doctor Dies After Sustaining Burn Injuries In Haryana; Family Alleges Murder

In a deeply shocking incident, Dr Bhavna Yadav, a 25-year-old medical graduate from Rajasthan, succumbed to her injuries after sustaining severe burns under mysterious circumstances in Haryana’s Hisar district. Her family alleges that she was brutally attacked and murdered.

Preparing for a Medical Career in India

Dr Bhavna, who had recently completed her MBBS degree from the Philippines in 2023, was preparing for the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE) required for practicing medicine in India. She was attending online classes and regularly traveling to Delhi for weekly tests. On 21 April, she left for Delhi to appear for one such test and stayed with her younger sister, who is preparing for the Civil Services Examination.

According to her mother, Gayatri Yadav, Bhavna stayed with her sister on 21 and 22 April and had called home on 23 April, assuring she would return the following morning. However, on 24 April, tragedy struck when a man identified as Umesh Yadav called Gayatri and informed her that Bhavna had suffered burn injuries and was admitted to Soni Hospital in Hisar.

Soon after receiving the call, Gayatri rushed to Hisar. Shockingly, the hospital authorities were unclear about where Bhavna had been found or the exact circumstances leading to her condition. Due to the severity of her injuries, Bhavna was transferred to SMS Hospital in Jaipur, where she passed away during treatment on the night of 24 April.

Evidence of Brutal Attack

While tending to Bhavna’s wounds, it was observed that her face, stomach, and legs were badly burned, but her hair and back were largely untouched. More disturbingly, marks of injuries inflicted by a sharp weapon were found on her stomach. "Gayatri alleged that during treatment, she observed sharp weapon injury marks on Bhavna's stomach while major portion of her face and body was severely burnt. Gayatri has further alleged that her daughter was first attacked with a sharp weapon and then set on fire."

Missing Items Raise Suspicion of Conspiracy

Adding to the family's suspicion of foul play, Bhavna’s laptop, mobile phone, and important documents were found missing. "Gayatri also complained that Bhavna's laptop, mobile and many important documents were missing, saying this could be part of a well-planned conspiracy. She has demanded a thorough investigation into the case."

Police Register Zero FIR, Launch Investigation

The Civil Lines Police Station in Hisar has registered a Zero FIR based on the family's complaint and launched an investigation. "Civil Lines police station in-charge Kavita said investigation will be started after receiving the Zero FIR. 'Umesh Yadav, who brought Bhavna to the hospital, is considered to be an important link in this case. After questioning Umesh, it will become clear whether it's a case of murder, suicide or accident. Information has also been sought from the hospital about the place from where and in what condition Bhavna was brought to the hospital,' Kavita said."
