Anti-drug drive: 260 challans issued, 8 vehicles impounded

Under the anti-drug campaign, police personnel led by SSP Shubham Agarwal initiated a special checking throughout the night and issued 260 challans and impounded eight suspicious vehicles in Fatehgarh Sahib.

Two persons, found to have fallen prey to drug addiction, were admitted to a rehabilitation centre.

Addressing mediapersons, the SSP said as per the directions issued by DGP Gaurav Yadav and Rupnagar Range DIG Harcharan Singh Bhullar, the district police initiated special night domination. He said all SPs, DSPs and SHOs were stationed at various check-points and Rakesh Kumar Yadav SP (D) supervised the special campaign.

He said during the night domination operation, nakas were set up in different locations, including near Khant village on the Chandigarh-Ludhiana road, Yes Bank in Mandi Gobindgarh and in front of Badali police station Ala Singh on the Chandigarh road. The SSP warned the anti-social elements that no one would be allowed to disturb law and order.
