War of words over plaques
Ambala: The war of words between the sitting and former MLAs of Ambala City over their names on the foundation stones and inaugural plaques of development projects is getting shriller. Congress MLA Nirmal Singh has expressed displeasure with the name of former BJP MLA Aseem Goel being mentioned on the stones, while his name is missing despite being the sitting MLA. However, Goel claimed that the projects were either passed during his tenure or with his efforts in getting approvals. He has even dared the sitting MLA to make the letters showing his efforts towards the said projects public.
Enraged over fire incidents
Yamunanagar: Several incidents of firing have taken place in Yamunanagar district in the past six months, creating an atmosphere of panic among the people. Three people were killed in a fire that took place near the police post of Kheri Lakkha Singh of the district a few months ago. However, the district police have failed to curb such incidents. Last night, the district police arrested two miscreants after an encounter. People say the police should deal with criminal elements strictly so that the trust in the police increases.
CPSCM post institutionalised
Chandigarh: Following an amendment to the Manual of Office Procedure, the Haryana Government has institutionalised the post of Chief Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister (CPSCM). Currently, retired IAS officer Rajesh Khullar holds this position. In the last edition of the Manual of Office Procedure in 2022, it was specified that the Principal Secretary to the CM (PSCM), Additional PSCM, Deputy PSCM, or any staff officer of the Chief Minister could convey the CM’s orders, without requiring the CM’s signature on the files. However, CPSCM was not mentioned. With the latest amendment, the CPSCM has now been formally included on this list.
