Mourning day declared in Iran on Apr 28 over deadly port blast
TEHRAN, Apr 27: The Iranian government has declared a day of national mourning on April 28 amid the deadly blast at the Shahid Rajaee port, Iranian government spokeswoman Fatemeh Mohajerani said on Sunday.
“Following the unfortunate incident at the Shahid Rajaee port in Bandar Abbas, the government has declared tomorrow [April 28] a day of national mourning,” Mohajerani was quoted as saying by the Tasnim news agency.
On Saturday, a large blast occurred in the port in the southern Iranian city of Bandar Abbas. According to the latest reported data on casualties, 28 people died in the blast and over 1,200 were injured.
