Is Samantha playing a shaman in 'Subham', her debut production? Makers reveal trailer, release date

Recently, Samantha announced the creation of her production company TraLaLa Moving Pictures. The actress has revealed the project to be a horror-comedy movie titled Subham, the trailer for which was unveiled by the makers on YouTube.

From the footage, we learn that it concerns a trio of men who claim to be 'alpha' but find themselves challenged in the face of an "unnatural phenomenon" that involves their wives being obsessed with... serials. Are the women human beings or some strange creature/supernatural being that possessed them? There is talk of the men unable to deal with "ghosts", so one assumes the movie is a ghost story with comic undertones. The trailer also reveals Samantha's cameo, seemingly playing a shaman called by the men to resolve the disconcerting events.

Directed by Praveen Kandregula from a concept by Vasanth Maringanti, Subham is slated for release on May 9. The cast includes Harshith Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Shravani Lakshmi, Shalini Kondepudi, Vamshidhar Goud and others.

Mridul Sujit Sen is the cinematographer for the movie, with music by Clinton Cerejo and background score by Vivek Sagar.

Samantha was last seen in Prime Video's Hindi-language espionage series Citadel: Honey Bunny directed by Raj & DK and co-starring Varun Dhawan, Kay Kay Menon, Simran, Sikandar Kher, Saqib Saleem, Soham Majumdar, Shivankit Singh Parihar and Thalaivaasal Vijay.

Her last feature-length film was director Shiva Nirvana's Kushi, with Vijay Devarakonda.

Samantha will be next seen in the Hindi-language fantasy series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom, co-created by Raj & DK and Rahi Anil Barve (Tumbbad).
