Explosion at Iran port kills 5, injures over 700 as N-talks resume in Muscat
A massive explosion and fire rocked a port Saturday in southern Iran purportedly linked to a shipment of a chemical ingredient used to make missile propellant, killing five people and injuring more than 700 others.
The blast at the Shahid Rajaei port happened as Iran and the United States met Saturday in Oman for the third round of negotiations over Tehran’s rapidly advancing nuclear programme.
Iran’s red lines include maintaining uranium enrichment. Tehran insists defence power like missile programme non-negotiable. The talks will continue next week, with another “high-level meeting” provisionally scheduled for May 3, Omani FM Badr Albusaidi said.
