School Holiday 2025: There is relief news for school students. After the end of the examinations, due to the health of the children and heatwave, different states have started announcing summer holidays in schools. So far, holidays have been declared in Madhya Pradesh, Delhi, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, although announcement is possible soon in many states like UP, Rajasthan and Haryana.

During the summer vacation, schools will remain closed for many days in April, May and June. Apart from this, the timing has been changed in many schools. Here, the Punjab government has declared a public holiday on 29 April 2025 on the occasion of Lord Parshuram Jayanti. On this day all government offices, schools, colleges and universities of the state will remain closed.

Know when and for how long the summer vacation will be in which state

Madhya Pradesh: According to the order issued by the School Education Department of Madhya Pradesh Government, summer vacation has been declared for students from 1 May to 15 June and for teachers from 1 May to 31 May. These holidays will be applicable to all private and government schools in the state simultaneously.

Chhattisgarh: This time summer vacation in Chhattisgarh schools will be from 25 April to 15 June 2025. Earlier this holiday was to start from May 1, but keeping in mind the heat wave and the health of the children, the Vishnusai government of the state has announced holidays 5 days in advance. However, this decision will apply only to the students. Teachers will be involved in their regular work.

Delhi: Summer vacation in Delhi schools will start from May 11 and end on June 30. However, teachers will have to report to schools from June 28.

Jharkhand: According to the annual calendar released by the Jharkhand Education Department, this time the summer holidays will start from 22 May and will last till 4 June 2025. Earlier these holidays were scheduled till 2 June, but in view of the scorching heat and heat wave, the holidays have been extended by two more days.

Tamil Nadu: In Tamil Nadu, summer vacation for classes 1 to 5 will run from 22 April to 1 June, classes 6 to 9 from 25 April to 1 June and summer vacation for class 10 students will run from 15 April to 1 June.

Himachal Pradesh: This time the summer vacation in Himachal Pradesh schools will be 32 days from 12 July to 12 August. Earlier it used to be 38 days from 22 June to 29 July. 4 holidays of April have been discontinued, instead summer break will be available from 1 to 8 June. There will be a 30-day summer holiday from 1 to 30 June in the schools of Nalagarh, Fatehpur, Nagarota Surian, Indora, Paonta Sahib, Kala Amb and Una districts.

School Timing Change: School timings changed in these districts In the schools where summer holidays have not been announced yet, the timings of schools have been changed. So far, the timings of schools have been changed in Lucknow, Agra, Pratapgarh and Amethi of UP.

Schools from class 1 to 8 in Agra will run from 7 am to 12 noon, in Pratapgarh and Amethi from 7:30 to 12:30 pm. During this time, all educational and other activities of students will be banned in open spaces in the school premises. All responsibility for negligence will be of the principals of the schools.

In Hanumangarh, Rajasthan, from 7 am to 12:30 pm, in Dausa, government and non-government primary and upper primary schools from 7.30 am to 11.30 am and in Jhunjhunu, the timing of all government and non-government schools will be from 7:30 am to 11:00 am from 19 April to 16 May 2025.

Apart from this, school timings have also been changed in Jodhpur, Barmer, Jaisalmer, Didwana-Kuchaman, Sri Ganganagar, Beawar districts.
