NIT Jalandhar holds candle march in honour of terror attack victims

The Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar community came together on Saturday evening to express solidarity and condemn the tragic killings of innocent civilians in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.

A candle march was organised by the faculty and students of NITJ, led by Director Dr BK Kanaujia. The event was held to honour the memory of the victims and promote a message of peace and unity.

The initiative was supported by the Chetna Club, a student organisation committed to spreading social awareness and fostering community service. Prominent faculty members including Dr Rohit Mehra, Dean Research; Dr Ajay Bansal, Registrar; Dr Sonia Chawla, Professor; Dr Subash, Dean Planning; and Dr BS Kaith participated in the march, alongside other staff and faculty members.

Students and faculty alike joined the procession with lit candles and placards, offering a poignant tribute to the lives lost in the terror attack. The atmosphere was solemn as the crowd moved together in silent reflection.

The event concluded with a silent prayer for the departed souls and a collective pledge to stand against violence while promoting harmony, justice and communal unity.
