IPL 2025: Ravi Bishnoi Expects Lucknow Super Giants To Have A Tough Contest Against Mumbai Indians

Lucknow Super Giants spinner Ravi Bishnoi felt the visitors are in for a tough contest against the in-form Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Sunday.

Bishnoi felt MI have their batting firing on all cylinders and it will be a challenge for them.

“They are playing really well and all their batters are in form so it’s going to be a tough match. It’s a batter’s game but after a point bowlers will get some help. I hope bowlers also get something tomorrow. It’s an afternoon game,” he added.

The LSG man also felt all their spinners are in good form and irrespective of the pitch and conditions they have been bowling well.

“Spinners are bowling good. Rathi is bowling well in his first year. We can’t be hard on ourselves because the game has changed a lot in the last few years. So suddenly its a batters game and we have to adapt,” he added.

Bishnoi revealed that batters have started taking more risks in the last few years in the IPL and the Impact Player rule has helped them in a big way.

“They have started taking more risks and impact rule has also helped the batsmen. They can come and hit freely because there are other batsmen also there. Impact Player rule has played a huge role in this in ensuring teams set high totals and also while defending.”

Bishnoi stated Rohit Sharma’s role as an Impact Player has helped Mumbai Indians immensely.

“He’s doing really well and its good for Indian cricket as well.”

The spinner was happy with the way his career has gone about in the last few years.

“It has been really good off late. Especially since 2020 and up until 2025. The franchise has also been good to me. Ups and downs are part and parcel of the sport but I have been working on my process.”

Bishnoi felt the competition between spinners was healthy for Indian cricket overall and there was no pressure as there were opportunities for everyone due to IPL.

“It’s good for Indian cricket overall because it will help everyone as there will be a healthy competition. You will get your opportunities because of the IPL and whenever you get a chance you have to perform. There is no pressure. IPL is there and when you get to chance you have to prove yourself.”

Talking about his strategy while going into a game and whether he prefers going for wickets or containing, Bishnoi had this to say.

“It depends on the tempo of the match whether you have to go for wickets or contain. If its a ‘low scoring match then you have to go for wickets and if its a high scoring one, then you can contain. You need to have a big heart as a bowler.”

Bishnoi lavished praise on fellow spinner and team-mate Digvesh Rathi for his exploits in his debut IPL season.

“He has a lot of confidence in his ability and that is the most successful key for him I feel,” he added.
