Jabalpur Woman Assaulted By In-Laws Over Property Dispute; FIR Registered
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A case of domestic violence was reported from Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur district in which a woman was constantly being assaulted by her in-laws over property disputes.
According to information, the incident pertains to Sarkari Kuan in the Hanumantal police station area. The victim has been identified as Mona Pali, who was attacked by her mother-in-law, brother-in-law, and sister-in-law.
The entire incident was also caught on CCTV cameras installed nearby.
Mona Pali informed police that she had a love marriage with Neeraj Pali six years ago and currently lives with their three-year-old son.
She alleged that her in-laws have been harassing her since the marriage, mainly over property and house-related issues.

In-laws obstructed Mona from filing police complaint
Recently, when Mona was on her way to file a complaint at the police station, her in-laws stopped her and beat her again. She submitted the CCTV footage along with her complaint at the Hanumantal police station. However, she said the police treated it as a family matter and did not take any action.
Upset by the police’s inaction, Mona, along with her husband, approached the Superintendent of Police (SP) office, seeking justice. She said this was not the first time she had complained, but every time, the case was ignored as a family dispute.

Additional SP Suryakant Sharma confirmed that Mona has submitted a written complaint. In it, she also mentioned receiving death threats from her in-laws. Sharma assured that a fair investigation will be conducted and strict action will be taken against those found guilty. The concerned police station has been directed to take immediate and serious action.
Currently, the investigation is underway, and police are examining the CCTV footage. Mona is now hoping to get justice through the authorities.
