Yogi Adityanath: The Uttar Pradesh government has made a big change in the Chief Minister’s mass marriage scheme. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has said that the state government has decided to give Rs 1 lakh instead of Rs 51 thousand to eligible newly married couples under the mass marriage scheme from the new financial year.

Apart from this, the Chief Minister has expressed the need to increase the annual income limit of Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh to avail the benefits of the scheme. CM Yogi has said that the mass marriage scheme has become a big support for the deprived class. To ensure that more and more people take advantage of it, it is necessary that the maximum annual income limit set for eligibility be increased.

Rs 60 thousand in bank account

In the review meeting of the Social Welfare Department on Thursday, CM Yogi said that it has been decided to give Rs 1 lakh under the mass marriage scheme. Out of this amount of Rs 1 lakh, Rs 60 thousand will be deposited in the bank account of the girl, while the newly married couple should be given gifts of Rs 25 thousand, the remaining Rs 15 thousand will be spent on the wedding ceremony.

CM Yogi has given instructions to implement this system immediately. While reviewing the updated status of old age pension, he said that it should be ensured that not a single eligible elderly person is deprived of pension. For better implementation of the scheme, it should be linked to the family ID.

He said that after linking to the family ID, as soon as any destitute elderly person in the eligibility category turns 60, he will start getting the pension amount immediately. The Chief Minister also directed the departmental officers to make necessary technical arrangements to increase the old age pension coverage through family ID.
