Meet Dharmendra’s ‘bahu’, a beauty queen, worked with Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, created controversy after working in…, she is now…

Whenever we think or talk about beautiful actresses from the 90s era, instantly names like Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Raveena Tandon or Karisma Kapoor come to our mind. But among them is one more actress, who is as gorgeous as them, but often doesn’t get enough recognition. She is none other than Deepti Bhatnagar.

Born on September 30, 1967, Deepti hails from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. She studied at Meerut University, after completing her early education from Delhi. At the age of 25, she moved to Mumbai to expand her handcraft business, but little did she knew that she will be offered a modelling assignment from Roopmilan Sarees.

In 1990, she was crowned Eves Weekly’s Miss India, and later on represented India at the Miss International beauty pageant held in Nagasaki, Japan. This achievement marked her journey into the glamour industry, leading her to a successful career in modelling and acting.

Her first role in acting appeared in Sanjay Gupta’s Ram Shastra. After working in few films, Deepti struggled to deliver hits. Later, the actress landed a role in Aamir Khan starrer Mann, which turned to be a box office success.

In March 2001, Deepti was offered a dance number in Salman Khan’s movie Chori Chori Chupke Chupke. It eventually grabbed her limelight, and further gave several film offers from Hindu, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada cinema.

In 2002-2003, Deepti became a household name after hosting the religious TV show Yatra. Her sarees and jewelleries grabbed major attention on the show. After that, she also hosted Musafir Hoon Yaron on Star Plus where she met the director of the show Randeep Arya.

Randeep is the son of late Punjabi actor Veerendra, cousin of legendary actor Dharmendra. Deepti and Randeep got married in 1997, and have two sons- Shubh (born in 2003) and Shiv (born in 2009).

According to reports, Deepti, when she was working as a full-time model, landed herself in a controversy after appearing in condom advertisement. The actress had to face backlash due to the ‘explicit’ content shown in the advertisement. However, Deepti never addressed the matter publicly and the advertisement was later taken down.

Deepti is quite active on Instagram and loves to share her travel diaries with her followers, giving insights about her daily life.
