‘Electronic signature’ of terrorists involved in Pahalgam terror attack traced to 2 Pak locations’: India informs global leaders

India has informed heads of foreign governments and ambassadors in Delhi that it has “credible information” which proves Pakistan's involvement in the gruesome Pahalgam terror attack earlier this week, The Indian Express reported. The external affairs had held marathon meetings with foreign ambassadors in the national capital on Friday.

 

As per the report, India informed foreign governments that it possessed “credible information” and “technical intelligence” that confirmed the Pakistani link behind the recent attacks in Jammu and Kashmir. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke with 13 foreign heads and the external affairs ministry conducted back-to-back meetings with foreign ambassadors in Delhi and conveyed this information to them, the publication reported.

 

‘Foreign leaders and envoys have been told that the ‘electronic signature’ of the terrorists and the terror group, The Resistance Front, has been traced to at least two locations in Pakistan,” the publication reported quoting sources in the know of the developments. “Foreign governments have also been told that some terrorists have been identified and their past activities – also involvement in terror attacks – have confirmed that they came from Pakistan, had infiltrated sometime back and had been hiding in Indian territory,” it reported.

India has announced a series of diplomatic measures against Pakistan, including the suspension of the Indus water treaty in the wake of the attack. As many as 26 persons including a Nepali national got killed in the attack on April 22. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asserted that guilty won’t be spared.

 

The Cabinet Committee on Security headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi met on April 22 and diplomatic measures were announced against Pakistan for its alleged involvement in the attack. India has also suspended visas for Pakistani nationals, downgraded strength at its embassies from 55 to 30 and also declared defence advisors and their support staff at the Pakistan Embassy in Delhi as Persona Non Grata.
