Kia India Rolls Out 1.5 Millionth Vehicle, Sets New Benchmark as Fastest Carmaker to Reach Milestone

New Delhi – Kia India has achieved a significant production milestone by rolling out its 1.5 millionth vehicle from its Anantapur manufacturing facility, becoming the fastest and youngest carmaker in the country to hit the mark. The milestone unit—a Kia Carens, a popular choice among Indian families—symbolizes the brand’s rapid growth and strong market presence since its debut.

Celebrating the achievement, the company also announced the launch of a new avatar of the Carens, set for May 8. Kia promises the updated model will be smarter, safer, and more advanced, reinforcing its focus on delivering future-ready mobility solutions.

“Rolling out our 1.5 millionth ‘Make in India’ vehicle is a proud and emotional moment for Kia India and every partner who has been a part of this journey,” said Gwanggu Lee, Managing Director and CEO of Kia India. “From the first Seltos to today’s Carens, each car is a testament to the trust and support of our customers and partners. We are committed to driving innovation and shaping the future of mobility in India.”

Since entering the Indian market with the Seltos in August 2019, Kia has rapidly expanded its portfolio, most recently launching the Syros earlier this year—a compact SUV aimed at urban Indian consumers. The company’s focus on premium design, advanced technology, and customer-first innovation has helped it carve a niche in the competitive Indian auto market.

Kia’s state-of-the-art plant in Anantapur, Andhra Pradesh—spread across 536 acres—has been central to its success. In addition to meeting domestic demand, the facility also serves as a key export hub, shipping vehicles to over 90 countries.

To date, the Anantapur plant has produced 700,668 units of the Seltos (46.7%), 519,064 units of the Sonet (34.6%), 241,582 units of the Carens (16.1%), 23,036 units of the Syros (1.5%), and 16,172 units of the Carnival (1.1%).

With this latest milestone, Kia India continues to strengthen its position as a major player in the Indian automotive industry, driven by innovation, quality, and customer trust.
