‘Wednesday: Season 2’ teaser trailer out: A darker, deadlier mystery awaits at Nevermore

In the first season, Wednesday Addam, the cold, emotionless girl is enrolled at the Nevermore Academy following a string of troublesome incidents at her former school. At Nevermore she finds herself immersed in a world brimming with supernatural beings and becomes entangled in a whirlwind of mysterious murders that are tied to a monstrous creature called the Hyde. The initial season ends in a plot twist when her continuous sleuthing ultimately reveals that the Hyde is her classmate Tyler, who is manipulated by Ms Thornhill – later revealed to be Laurel Gates, a woman who is seeking revenge against the Addams family.

The teaser for season 2, which was released on April 23, looks darker, eerie and even more twisted – just the way Wednesday would like it. The opening scene of the teaser is set in an airport security checkpoint, where Wednesday places an assortment of weapons on the table. The new season also features a chilling mystery involving a serial killer who is obsessed with porcelain dolls. While the teaser didn’t spill any major hints about the plot, it sets a gripping tone and promises an edge-of-the-seat experience.

The trailer portrays Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) arriving at Nevermore accompanied by her strange family, which includes her parents Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones), Gomez Addams (Luis Guzman) and her brother Pugsley (Issac Ordonez), to begin a new tale of horrors and mysteries. She once again meets her quirky roommate Enid (Emma Myers), a fan-favourite character. Wednesday’s cryptic dialogue in the trailer “I know where the bodies are” gives a taste of dark humour to her character.
