Delhi NCR Weather Update: When will it rain in Delhi-NCR, the Meteorological Department has predicted

Delhi NCR Weather: This year monsoon rainfall is expected to be above normal, but it is expected to remain normal in the National Capital Region Delhi NCR. Rainfall is expected to be below normal in June, while the situation may improve between July and September.

According to Skymet Weather, La Nina conditions were developing this year, but later it is diminishing. Apart from this, no activity of El Nino is also being seen. In this perspective, there are less chances of heavy rainfall in Delhi NCR.

The Meteorological Department says that the monsoon will rain more than normal in different states of the country. However, the pattern of rainfall is not the same in all the states. Keeping this in mind, there can be a difference in the amount of rainfall in Delhi as well.

Monsoon usually arrives in Delhi around 25 June. Monsoon activity lasts till the third week of September, but sometimes it continues till the first week of October. Last year, in 2024, the monsoon departed on October 2, a week late.

Last year was the seventh wettest in terms of rainfall since 1901. There was 1029.9 mm rainfall as against the normal of 640.3 mm. This figure shows that last year clearly showed the impact of monsoon.

La Nina and El Nino are both weather patterns associated with changes in sea surface temperatures in the Pacific Ocean. They are two phases of the ENSO (El Nino Southern Oscillation) cycle. In El Nino, the water is warmer than normal, while in La Nina it is cooler than normal. La Nina can affect the monsoon, causing an increase or decrease in the amount of rainfall.
