MS Dhoni Nears Major T20 Landmark, Set To Become Fourth Indian To Achieve It
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain MS Dhoni is set to join an elite list in T20 cricket, becoming the fourth Indian cricketer to reach a remarkable milestone. Rohit Sharma tops the list, followed by Dinesh Karthik and Virat Kohli in second and third place, respectively.
Dhoni is scheduled to play his 400th T20 match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 25 at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium. Rohit, Dinesh, and Virat have played 456, 412, and 407 matches, respectively.

MS Dhoni's Perfomance In T20s
He has scored 1,617 runs in T20 Internationals at a strike rate of 126.13. In the IPL, the five-time title-winning captain has amassed 5,377 runs at a strike rate of 137.87. In 24 Champions League appearances for CSK, he has scored 449 runs.
The 2025 IPL campaign has been underwhelming for both MS Dhoni and Chennai Super Kings (CSK). In eight matches, Dhoni has managed to score just 134 runs, with a highest of 30. CSK won their first match of the season against Mumbai Indians (MI) under Ruturaj Gaikwad's captaincy. However, after the match against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Gaikwad was ruled out of the remainder of the season due to an elbow injury, prompting Dhoni to step back into the captaincy role.
Since taking charge, Dhoni has led CSK in three games, with just one win against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG).
Their upcoming clash against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be a do-or-die encounter for both teams. CSK currently sit at the bottom of the points table with four points and a negative Net Run Rate (NRR). To keep their playoff hopes alive, they must win all of their remaining matches.
