AR Rahman breaks silence on separation from Saira Banu, says ‘when something hurtful…’
The music maestro of India, AR Rahman, is one of the most celebrated musicians in the country. He made headlines when he and his ex-wife Saira Banu announced their separation in 2024. The musician said that people who are actors, singers, influencers often remain under public scrutiny.
He said, “The choice of being in public life is intentional, so everybody gets reviewed. Right from the richest person to even God gets reviewed, so who am I?” Rahman said. He further added, “As long as we stay together and are not conceited or toxic… even those who criticise us — they’re all family.”
Rahman also talked about his belief in Karma and how trolling affects one’s mental peace. Talking about the same, he said, “If I say things about someone’s family, someone will say things about mine. And we, as Indians, believe this. Nobody should say unnecessary things because everyone has a sister, a wife, a mother.”
Rahman said that when someone talks negatively or hurtfully, his first reaction is to pray and say, “Please God, forgive them and guide them.”
