Before the discussions began in New Delhi, everyone present stood in silence to honor the victims. After the meeting, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, who is also the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, expressed full support to the government for any steps it may take in response. On the government’s side, key figures like Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar were present. The opposition was represented by leaders such as Mallikarjun Kharge (Rajya Sabha LoP), Supriya Sule from NCP-SP, and AIMIM’s Asaduddin Owaisi, among others.

Meanwhile, tensions between India and Pakistan escalated as Pakistan reacted strongly to India’s decision to halt the Indus Waters Treaty. Calling the move an “act of war”, Pakistan announced the closure of its airspace to Indian flights and warned that it may suspend all mutual agreements with India, including the Simla Agreement. In response, the Indian government declared that all visas granted to Pakistani citizens would be revoked starting April 27. However, medical visas will remain valid until April 29, as confirmed by the Ministry of External Affairs.
