Safety Seminars And Counseling Sessions Organized By WR's Mumbai Central Division

Western Railway's Mumbai Central Division organized a series of Safety Seminars and Counseling Sessions at various locations from 08 th to 12 th April 2025. The objective of these sessions was to enhance safety awareness among railway staff and to strengthen operational procedures.

According to press release issued by Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, Vineet Abhishek, a series of safety seminars & counseling sessions commenced from 8 th April 2025 and was held across 6 locations of Mumbai Division viz Vasai Road, Mumbai Central Coaching Depot, Nandurbar, Surat, Valsad & Udhna. The seminar was basically targeted for the staff concerned with train operations & maintenance.

Vineet Abhishek informed that the discussions for the seminar focused on a wide array of topics pertaining to engineering, electrical, Signal & Telecom, operating department etc. The discussions were held on safe shunting operations, securing of stabilized rolling stock, working of fire alarm system, procedures of LC closing, protection of work site, operation of OHE insulator, etc. A special session was also conducted by doctors from the Medical Department during these safety seminars. These sessions focused on precautionary health measures for conditions such as heat waves, safety tips for working in hot conditions, importance of hydration, symptoms of heat exhaustion, and basic first aid. Additionally, Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) packets were distributed to staff to help them stay hydrated especially during the summer season.

This initiative highlights Western Railway's continued commitment to safety and reliability, by regularly educating and counseling its frontline staff on essential operational and health-related matters.
