High-Level Meeting Concludes on Pahalgam Attack, Security Forces Intensify Search for Terrorists
A high-level meeting regarding the recent Pahalgam attack has concluded, with the Home Secretary, along with officials from the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and Intelligence Bureau (IB), leading discussions on the ongoing security situation. Sources reveal that the meeting focused on analyzing the current terrorist threat in Kashmir and the overall internal security situation of the country. The meeting came shortly after the Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting, where critical decisions were made, particularly regarding the heightened security alert in Kashmir following the attack. Key discussions revolved around the progress of the investigation, especially concerning the terrorists involved. Information shared by the IB and RAW chiefs has been passed on to the Home Secretary, who will brief the Home Minister and Prime Minister accordingly. A major concern raised during the meeting was the inability to apprehend the terrorists responsible for the attack, even after 48 hours. Security forces are intensifying their search in the dense forests around Pahalgam, suspecting the terrorists may have returned via the same route. Meanwhile, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is working alongside the Jammu and Kashmir Police to further the investigation. The country’s anger is mounting, with increasing calls for strong actions against the terrorists and their backers, particularly Pakistan.
