India Begins Retaliatory Actions Against Pakistan After Pahalgam Terror Attack
Following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, India has launched a series of strong retaliatory measures against Pakistan, whom it holds responsible for harboring terrorists. In a major development, India has suspended the Indus Water Treaty, cutting off water that flows from Indian rivers to Pakistan — a move being seen as a "water strike." Additionally, the Attari-Wagah border has been shut, and diplomatic staff on both sides are being reduced. India has also ended the SAARC visa exemption scheme for Pakistani nationals, giving those currently in the country just 48 hours to leave. These five major decisions were taken during a high-level Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. These actions are viewed as the beginning of a broader strategy, with speculation rising over whether a military strike, possibly another surgical strike, could follow. The message from India is loud and clear- terrorism and its supporters will no longer be tolerated.
