Destroy terror outfits, their support system, L-G directs police officials
Amid nationwide outrage over the Pahalgam terror attack, Lieutenant Governor (L-G) Manoj Sinha reaffirmed the Jammu and Kashmir administration’s resolve to dismantle the terror ecosystem during a high-level security meeting with senior police officials on Tuesday.
Sources at Raj Bhawan revealed that Sinha chaired a crucial review session to ensure swift implementation of directives issued by Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a high-level meeting held yesterday. The focus remains on bringing the perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack to justice without delay.
During the meeting, the L-G reportedly stated that the Government of India is “fully committed to avenge the killing of our citizens and to ensure that such dastardly acts of terrorism do not recur.”
Sources further disclosed that Sinha emphasised Shah’s directive that “all might must be used for the strongest possible action against the perpetrators of the Pahalgam terror attack and the ecosystem of terrorism has to be completely dismantled.”
Acknowledging the gravity of the loss, Sinha said, “Nothing could compensate for the innocent lives that have been lost in the most heinous terror attack.” He underscored the necessity of decisive action, directing that terror outfits and those aiding or abetting them must be “completely destroyed wherever they are.”
The Lieutenant Governor instructed Deputy Commissioners (DCs) and Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to “take steps on the ground to restore a sense of security to the people and take care of their needs.”
“I want to assure the nation that the scourge of terrorism will be fought with determination. All means and measures must be taken to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack,” Sinha asserted.
The security review meeting was attended by the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police (DGP) and all senior officials from the civil administration and police departments.
